Born “Amatus”-sami Karim on the southside of Chicago, a vocalist, record producer, songwriter, and media artist, is the daughter of a Share-Cropper, Jazz musician, turned Imam, and Russian Muslim Gypsy devoted to artistic co-creation where she learned how to apply art, to her philosophy of living. Her work focuses on core issues of identity, poverty, survival, globalization, violence, and prejudice that run beneath the surface of the universal human struggle.
